Meridian House

Meridian House sits on a narrow bluff overlooking the Pacific, a site most architects would have fought. We didn't fight it — we let the topography write the plan. The house steps down the slope in three shallow terraces, each one framing a different register of the horizon.

The material palette is deliberately restrained: board-formed concrete, white oak, and glass, chosen to weather rather than perform. Over a decade, the concrete will pale and the oak will silver, and the house will read less like an object and more like an outcropping.

The client's brief was simple — a house that felt like it had always been there. We think it does.
